Does Columbus Day affect the stock market?

While Columbus Day is a federal holiday, it does not impact the stock market’s hours of operations. The New York Stock Exchange and the Nasdaq Stock Market will keep normal hours Monday, and be open from 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Eastern. Over-the-counter markets will also keep regular hours.

Are there early hours for bond traders ahead of Columbus Day?

Unlike some holidays, however, there are no early hours for bond traders ahead of Columbus Day, with regular trading hours on Friday, October 6. As a reminder, Columbus Day is a federal holiday that occurs on the second Monday in October and marks the voyage and landing of Italian explorer Christopher Columbus in the Americas.

When are trading hours finalized?

Trading hours are usually finalized approximately two weeks prior to the holiday. Holiday schedules are subject to input from the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) and the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association (SIFMA). Customer support is available 24 hours a day, beginning at 14:00 Sunday through Friday 16:30 CT.
